BharatQR code with ICICI Bank Mobile App

Indian Govt has launched BharatQR code based payment solution for merchant/retail outlets on Feb 20, 2017. This scheme has been launched by NPCI in collaboration with Visa, MasterCard, RupayCard and American express to allow customers to pay easily through their debit/credit card without the need of any POS (point of sale) machine.

ICICI bank is one of main supporters of BharatQR code scheme and has already started supporting BharatQR in its mobile apps.

BharatQR code Payment using ICICI mobile app Pockets

ICICI bank customers can make payments on a BharatQR code merchant by using the ICICI mobile app called 'Pockets by ICICI Bank'.

To make payment using Bharat QR code using Pockets app by ICICI, one need to take following steps:

1. On your smartphone, open ICICI Pockets app, click on Bharat QR to scan the QR code at the merchant / retail shop
2. Pocket app will show camera app and you can now scan the BharatQR code of customer easily
3. Once Bharat QR code is scanned successfully, it will show payment screen showing merchant details and you can enter the amount to pay
4. Next you select any of your linked debit or credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Rupay cards) for payment
5. Once selected, transaction is completed and you will see a success screen. At the same time, merchant will receive a notification on his/her phone for the transaction.

Please note that ICICI bank Pockets app is not just a app for BharatQR code based payments, it also supports UPI payments as well.
