GST No Search - GST Number (GSTIN) search

GST (Goods and Service tax) is now live all across india from July 1st 2017. So from now onwards, every invoice needs to include GST No (GSTIN - GST identification number). Also every company needs to submit the GST number to banks and other suppliers so that data is correctly reflected in government records. But how to search GST no?

GST No Search - Search your GSTIN

There are two main ways to search your GST number (no):

1. By finding the provisional GST registration email sent by government
2. By login to GST portal and find the GST no there.

GST number search - through email

During last week of june 2017, GST gov in has sent an email to all GST applicants containing 'GST Provisional Certificate'. If you open the attachment in this email, you will find your GST number under the title 'GSTIN' which is a short form for GST identification number.

GST number search - through GST portal

You can also search your GST number by login to GST portal. Once you login, you should be able to see your GST number in the top right side of the dashboard page.
